Yes, I would like to have a licensed insurance agent call or email me about Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plans, and/or Medicare Supplement Insurance.
Original Medicare includes Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance), but not Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage), or extra Benefits like Dental, Vision, or Hearing coverage. You generally have to pay a portion (20%) of the cost for each service Original Medicare covers. There’s no limit to what you’ll pay out of pocket in a year unless you have other coverage like Medigap, or join a Medicare Advantage Plan.
Medicare Advantage (Part C) are Medicare-approved plans from private companies. These "bundled" plans include Part A (Hospital), Part B (Medical), and usually Part D (Prescription Drug). Most Medicare Advantage Plans provide Dental, Vision, Hearing coverage, and extra benefits such as gym memberships, transportation to doctor visits, over-the-counter cards, and other health care services. Medicare Advantage plans generally have a $0 premium.
Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policies are sold by private insurance companies and can help pay for some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Part D prescription drug plans and extra benefits like Dental, Vision, and Hearing are not provided with Medicare Supplement policies. There is a monthly premium for these policies that gradually increases as you get older.
Part A generally includes hospital insurance. It pays for inpatient care in hospital, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and home health care. Most people do not have to pay a monthly Part A premium since they or their spouse paid taxes while they were working.
Part B provides coverage for medically necessary services. This includes services from doctors and other health care providers, outpatient care, home health care, durable medical equipment, and many preventavie services. Part B is optional, and the beneficiary will generally pay a premium. Both Parts A & B must be obtained before enrolling in a Medicare Advantage or Medigap plan.
Medicare Part D is the federal government's prescription drug program. Plans that offer Medicare drug coverage (Part D) are run by private insurance companies that follow rules set by Medicare. Part D helps cover the cost of prescription drugs. Most Medicare Advantage plans offer Part D with their plans. Part D can be purhcased as stand-alone plans for those on Original Medicare or Medicare Supplement (Medigap).
